Discovery Museum

Looking for a way to support The Discovery Museum? Consider joining our Teen Volunteer Program! With a minimum requirement of 80 hours, this program is best suited for individuals who can commit to volunteering during school breaks, assisting with our kids' camps. They welcome your participation and look forward to working with you to make a difference in our community.

Reno Bike Project

Reno Bike Project welcomes volunteers to help improve the shop, whether it's through skilled trades or greeting visitors. Experienced mechanics are also needed during open hours or classes, and we're happy to teach those interested. Additionally, help with cleaning and organizing is always appreciated.

Nevada Art Museum

Interested in art? The Nevada Museum of Art volunteer program offers opportunities for administrative support, customer service, and docents. Administrative volunteers provide office and clerical, while customer service volunteers staff the Museum Store and admissions desk. Docents host guided tours and workshops about the exhibitions and collections. Specialized training is provided for docents.

Reno Little Theater

RLT is excited to welcome you to their family of all-star volunteers! They have a variety volunteer opportunities available, including ushers and box office volunteers who get to see the show for free, concessions volunteers who sell drinks and snacks to patrons (must obtain an alcohol handler's card), and technical and production volunteers who work behind the scenes bring productions to life.

Police Jr. Cadets

Interested in law enforcement? The Washoe County School Police Jr. Cadet Class is an excellent opportunity for high school students in the Washoe County School District to learn about law enforcement while earning high school credit. The class meets twice a week and covers a variety of topics, including the history of enforcement, case law, traffic stops, building searches, radio, and drug laws. In addition to classroom learning, students will also complete 10 hours community service each semester, valuable experience and leadership skills.

At Family Respite Care of Nevada, we take on the challenges that come with caring for children, youth, and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. That's we offer center and community-based programs designed to provide essential respite care to families in need. American Red Cross

The American Red Cross of Nevada has a Youth and Young Adult program that includes Cross Clubs in schools and individual volunteering opportunities. Members can develop leadership, communication, and community service skills while working towards the Red Cross mission. Volunteers must register online, and those under 18 require parental or guardian consent.

Sierra School of Performing Arts

Trauma Intervention Program of NNV(TIP)

Training for the Trauma Intervention Program of NNV (TIP) is 38 hours over two weeks, in the evenings and on the weekends - the training academy is offered twice per year usually in October and April. Volunteers must have their driver's licenses, access to a vehicle, and be able to cover three on-call shifts per month. Teens should be mature, good listeners with empathic compassion. TIP provides invaluable experience for those interested in the helping fields - healthcare, social work, fire, non-profit - and a unique volunteer opportunity that looks great on college and job applications.
